Book Fair Foundation Welcomes Former Peace Museum Head

The Book Fair Foundation, parent organization to both the Dayton Book Fair and Rabbit Hole Books, announced Friday the appointment of Kevin Kelly as Director of Special Projects. Kelly previously served six years as Executive Director at the International Peace Museum.

“I have always been impressed with The Book Fair Foundation and the dynamic programs they create,” Kelly said. “Their generous grants program has helped many Dayton-area nonprofit organizations. The addition of the Rabbit Hole Bookstore, community events like a 5K race, scavenger hunts, activities for families, and multiple new projects under development, attracted me to this growing organization.”

Larkin Vonalt, executive director of the Book Fair Foundation said the organization is delighted that Kelly is willing to come on board to help spearhead special projects. “He brings to our staff fantastic energy, talent and scope,” she said, adding that this addition to her staff finally makes possible the development of a long-awaited major project to be announced this December by the Book Fair Foundation.

The Dayton Book Fair, coming up the second weekend in November, is one of the country’s largest sales of second-hand books and provides the funding each year for three ten-thousand dollar grants made to other community non-profits. The Foundation’s other project, Rabbit Hole Books, was recently voted Best of Dayton for the second consecutive year, selling books for one dollar each at its downtown location.
