Book Sale Setup: Monday, November 3rd–Thursday, November 6th
Book Sale: Friday, November 7th–Sunday, November 9th
Book Sale Tear Down: Monday, November 10th

It’s hard to believe that it’s already time for the Dayton Book Fair!  Our 54th annual sale will be at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds & Event Center (entrance near 645 Infirmary Road, exact location here).  Your hard work this year will help out our 2025 beneficiaries: Family Promise of Greene County, the Ohio Performing Arts Institute and Gem City Roller Derby.

Starting on the afternoon of Monday, November 3rd (12pm-5pm), we’ll set up tables and move around pallets and boxes of books. These tasks are quite physical and are only for those that can lift heavy boxes and/or use a pallet jack. This will continue on Tuesday, November 4th as well (9am-5pm) – we’ll provide lunch for our heavy lifters on this day!

The afternoon of Tuesday, November 4th will be the big day to start unpacking books (1pm–5pm) and this will continue on Wednesday, November 5th (9am–5pm) and Thursday, November 6th (9am–2pm). The Book Fair Foundation will provide lunch on Wednesday and Thursday so please be sure to let us know if you’ll be there during lunchtime!

For the days of the sale (Friday, Saturday & Sunday, November 7th–9th), we’re asking folks to commit to 3-4 hour shifts:

Sale Shifts:
Friday: 9:15am–12:30pm | 12:30pm–4:00pm | 4:00pm–7:15pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9:15am–11:45am | 11:45am–2:30pm | 2:30pm–5:15pm
 
We’ll need price readers, price adders, baggers, straighteners, greeters, picker-uppers, and question-answerers (and other duties as assigned.)  On Friday, we’ll also need a handful of folks to help our biggest customers pack up their purchases in the Dealer Corral – this job is physically demanding.  We’ll show you the ropes and provide snacks!
 

On Monday, November 10th, the tear down of the sale begins at 9am and continues until complete, hopefully no later than late afternoon.
