Book Donation Details
Come visit the “Book Loft” to donate your books. We are located at 2181 Embury Park Road, Dayton, Ohio (click the link to see a map). We are open to the public on Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are also book barrel locations at several sites in the Dayton area.

- Siebenthaler’s Garden Center – 6000 Far Hills Ave., Centerville
- Temple Israel – 130 Riverside Dr., Dayton
- United Christian Church – 8611 Hoke Rd., Clayton
- Yellow Springs Community Library – 415 Xenia Ave, Yellow Springs

Dayton Book Fair

Amy, whoops, we haven’t posted that yet! We’re adding some barrel sites, so there will be more coming. Right now there are barrels at Harmony Church of Christ (5280 Bigger Road), Shiloh United Church of Christ (5300 Philadelphia Dr), Polk Grove Church (9190 Frederick Pike at Rt. 40), VFW Post 657 (637 Spinning Road) and Temple Israel (130 Riverside Dr.) Also, we are open at our office at 2181 Embury Park Road (just off of Keowee) and next week we hope to have our book drop installed, so books can be safely left there anytime. Thanks for thinking of us!

Where is the barrel at Temple Israel? I looked for it a few weeks ago and was unable to locate the barrel. Thanks!

I just heard back from our guy who checks the barrels. He said there should be two barrels at Temple Israel– “just to the right as you go through the door.” He is going to go by this afternoon to double-check– as Temple Israel ended up with two barrels because the first one was “misplaced” and then appeared again. We do have our book drop at our workshop on Embury Park Road now– so books can be dropped there anytime as well. Let us know if you can’t find a spot for them.

Is this the same book fair that is at Hara Arena every year?

The book sale at the Hara is the sale for Dayton Metro Libraries. Our sale is each November (this year November 13-15) at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds.

Do you accept anything else besides books, such as used jigsaw puzzles, magazines or games?

Yes, we are pleased to accept puzzles, games, posters, prints, DVDs, CDs, vinyl records, VHS, book-related toys, bookends, boxed greeting cards . . .

Is the “Nearly New Shop” in Springfield still a drop-off point for books? My wife and I have donated books to your sale for many years and appreciated being able to leave books in a Springfield location.

Hi Cindy,
The sale starts Thursday, November 10 and runs through Monday, November 14. Sale hours Thursday through Sunday are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. There’s a $10 admission all day Thursday, free admission Friday, Saturday and Sunday– Sunday is bag day ($7.50 for a grocery bag) and on Monday November 14, from 8 a.m. to noon, pay one dollar to come in and take all the books you want.

We accept donations year round at our office & warehouse at 2181 Embury Park Road, in Dayton. We will also be having a Round Up with different sites around town where donations can be accepted. All donations are tax deductible! Thanks for your interest.

When I was volunteering last week I inquired on how could my nonprofit apply to become a recipient of some of your funds. I was guided to a form you said I could find on your website. Couldn’t find it. Any advice as to where I can find it?

We take magazines, and for certain titles enough interest exists to take them with us to the sale. Others will go to our paper recycler. Thanks for asking!
